Danny K Dunbar began her journey as an artist in rural Michigan, raised in an inspiring household and working alongside her mother, a tool and die maker and successful stained-glass artist, and her father, a mechanic and gun smith. Immersed in the creative process from an early age, Danny K cultivated an insatiable passion for the arts that would continue into the present. In 2007, she moved to the historic art center of Detroit, the Cass Corridor, and became a resident artist of the Bohemian House Art Collective. There she had her true introduction to many different fine arts, such as painting, sculpture and poetry, living and working next to a myriad of different artists such as John Sinclair and Chris Turner. After a short and successful career in design engineering, specializing in plastic injection and prototype technology, where she worked on projects for NASA, Boeing and the “Big Three” car companies, Danny K became an accredited member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Recently Danny K chose to peruse her enduring love of art and fully dedicate herself to an artistic path by returning to higher education, studying Fine Art at Wayne State University.
